GRAPHICS COORDINATOR, Regular Full Time: Help fulfill graphic demands for in-house unit for some Fox owned-and-operated TV stations.  This position will act as liaison between stations and the unit and will take in graphic orders, assign projects, make sure projects are finished within deadlines and ensure delivery.  Qualified applicants will also maintain library file and purge orders and projects as necessary.  May also track and order office and art supplies and evaluate and order new software.  Previous hands-on design experience required.  Must be acquainted with the capabilities of various software programs and plug-ins.  Knowledge of newsroom terminology and processes is preferred.  Superb communication skills and a proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines are mandatory.  A positive and strong sense of humor is a plus.  Applicants must be able to work in a team environment and to work overtime as needed.

    Job postings for graphic designers can be a great learning tool. Knowing what companies and people in the industry are looking for and the specific skills that they are looking for will definitely aid in a classroom and major setting in knowing what areas to focus on. In addition, non graphic skills are also very important even in these types of jobs. The job listing posts communication skills and multitasking skills are needed. These are not necessarily graphic skills but skills nonetheless that can aid in a graphic design career. Deadlines just as in a classroom setting is stressed. Especially in a news media setting timing is everything. Having people skills and a positive attitude as listed will help in having co-workers be more receptive towards you and generally have a comfortable work environment.
