Join the Valencia graphic flickr groups!

As you all are aware, flickr has been a HUGE asset to our program. It has given us the ease of uploading student work quickly without too much time being spent on maintenance. We’ve been using flickr since the summer of 2006 and I’m still amazed at how useful it has been for our program. Before I share with you the new flickr groups I’ve created, I wanted to give you all a sneak peak of just how successful our flickr account has been in just 2 1/2 years.

Yes, that’s pretty amazing, isn’t it? 792,161 total views. In just 2 1/2 short years we’ve had nearly a million views in our flickr account. Of course I also find it interesting to share just how popular some of our student work has become. Check it out, here’s a few more stats worth noting of popular projects in our flickr:

STARTING UP NEW GROUPS
As of today I’ve established two new flickr groups that will hopefully be of interest to you if you are affiliated with Valencia or if you have any interest in our student’s work. I must admit that as our flickr photostream has increased in popularity that my inbox has at times been flooded with emails of student work sent by students or faculty. In attempt to streamline the process of submitting work the first group was established. A second group was created in hopes to create a collaborative area for all of you at Valencia to share work created beyond Valencia. So let me briefly update you on both groups and you can go check them out for yourself if you interested!

VALENCIA GRAPHICS (student work)
This group was created for Valencia students to share design work they’ve created in class. If you’re an alumni you may join, however, you may ONLY submit design work that was created in a course at Valencia. When you post work to the group you MUST include your name, course were taking when you created the project, semester, and your professor’s name. If your work grabs our attention we’ll likely download it and post it to our Valencia flickr account. By posting work to the group you grant permission for us to share your work in our flickr account.

VALENCIA GRAPHICS (personal and professional work)
This group was created for any Valencia students, alumni, staff or faculty so that they may share personal or professional design work they’ve created. This group is NOT to share classwork.

Both groups are only open by invitation. If you do not receive an invite you may request to join the group, just be sure to note your relationship with Valencia when requesting to join groups. So go join our groups, and get to sharing your uber awesome work with us!
