Valencia Represents @ the Real Show 2009

celebrate-stampCongratulations to Patricia NiBlack for earning a Merit Award in this year’s ADCMW Real Show Awards for her “Celebrate” postage stamp!

The competition involved the creation of a celebratory stamp design that can be used for many occasions with the theme “Celebrate”. The most critical issue about stamp design is that the finished piece will be seen at stamp size.

The Art Directors Club of Metropolitan Washington (ADCMW) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating professionalism in the field of visual communications. Formed in 1953, the Club keeps the creative community informed about design and the professional aspects of design, and helps the business community understand the power and value of good design.

The Real Show is an annual competition giving college students the opportunity to solve real-life communication design problems. A panel of design professionals jury over the student pieces, with the winning pieces displayed in an exhibition, along with the actual real world designs.
