Position Details: Part-Time/Contract Graphics Designer

Gooch & Housego, a manufacturer of precision optical components is seeking a graphic artist, design student or recent graduate to work with their marketing communication and
product management team.

Responsibilities would include:

• Development of graphics and layouts for product illustrations, company logos, and Internet websites.
• Creation of original designs, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles and esthetic design concepts.
• Guidance on size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and select style and size of type.
• Use computer software tools (i.e. Photoshop) to modify existing and generate new images using digital photography studio (supplied).
• Mark up, paste, and assemble final layouts to prepare layouts for printer.
• Review final layouts and suggest improvements as needed.

This position would be on an as-needed basis, compensated at an hourly rate and without benefits. Opening may lead to a permanent long-term position.
