2010 Orlando ADDY Results

Fun times were had at the 2011 Orlando ADDY Gala with this year’s theme being Las Vegas. Although I think we all agree if we were to end up in the boxing ring with any one of the Vegas boxing talent wandering around, non of us would have been scared. 😉

As you can imagine, Valencia Students were a force to be reckoned with when it came to earning bling and showing off their talent in the ring. I’ll have to be careful this year to not just congratulate Valencia Graphics Students because this year students in Valencia’s Digital Media Program also won ADDYs! Here’s the scorecard for Valencia’s Wins this year on the Local Level:

BEST OF STUDENT: Laura Murillo for her Anti-Smoking Campaign

Special Judges Award: James Smith & Ilianna Perez for their Spy Interactive Map

Special Judges Award: Paola Latorre for her Be Smart Campaign

Gold ADDY: Laura Murillo for her Print Magazine Cover

Gold ADDY: James Smith & Ilianna Perez for their Spy Interactive Map

Gold ADDY: Brian Nutt for his Nutt Portfolio Website

Gold ADDY: Brian Nutt for his King of Erin and the Giant Illustration

Gold ADDY: Brian Nutt for his Nutt Logo

Silver ADDY: Stephanie Gault & Brian Nutt for their Green Studio Website

Silver ADDY: Paola Latorre for her Be Smart Campaign

Silver ADDY: Eric Palm for his Be Real Animation

Silver ADDY: Brandon Lohaus for his Paper Mill Logo Animation

Silver ADDY: Jaclyn Steinberg for her 1950s-style Anti-Smoking Campaign

Silver ADDY: Laura Murillo for her Wilson Golf Clubs Campaign

Even Randi, the wife of Valencia Graphics Student Stuart Alvarado, managed to walk away with some “bling”… for the most chips won at the blackjack tables!

Keep your fingers crossed for our Best of Student, Special Judges and Gold ADDY winners as their work automatically advances onto the Regional competition. And, of course, we’ll also keep our fingers crossed for any Silver ADDY winners who have paid the additional fee to have their work advance to the next level.

Congratulations Valencia students and professors for their award winning work! Graphics and Digital Media delivered quite the winning combination! Additional kudos and love go to professors and local professionals who won professional-level ADDYs!

Congrats everyone!! Glad to see all the hard turn into some well-earned recognition!! Good luck at Districts and don't forget to keep an eye on you pieces and make sure they move up to Nationals! Also, if you're Silver in any round make sure submit the necessary info and small payments ASAP to get your pieces on their way to the next level!

Anytime, you guys did great! As a team, you guys came up with so many options it was merely a matter of helping you select what conveyed your message the best. Great job again to both of you! :D

I'm so proud of you all - both students and instructors. Missing not being on campus or getting to go to the Addy's this year. I'll just have to rearrange my winter vacation in Colorado in the future.
