{HURRY THE DEADLINE TO SUBMIT WORK IS WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 24TH BY 9PM!!}

GRAPHICS Student Submission Guidelines (NOTE: The below outlines submission criteria for work done for Graphics courses only. The guidelines for submitting work completed in ART courses is different than what is on this blog posting. Please stop by the Fine Art Dept. in Building 3 for submission guidelines for work completed in ART courses – e.g. ART1300C.)

Work Eligible: Any work produced in conjunction within a Valencia Graphics class (any course with a GRA or DIG prefix) from Summer session 2009 through Spring session 2010. Students may enter up to 2 pieces from each class taken. Graphics work does not have to be mounted for judging, however, since judging is a very subjective process it’s probably best to make sure your work is presented in a way that isn’t sloppy or unprofessional.

Work Delivery Deadline for Judging: Wednesday February 24th (no later than 9pm) to room 1-213. Each entry MUST have a completed entry form (including the white and yellow copies) taped to the back of the lower right hand corner. Entry forms can be obtained on the East Campus in room 1-213.

Judging of Work: The judging of the work will take place on Friday, February 26th.

Pickup of Submitted Work: All submitted work must be picked up by March 3 in room 1-213. Students with accepted work will then be required to prepare their work for gallery hanging and then RETURN their GALLERY READY work to 1-213 by SATURDAY MARCH 27TH!

Accepted Work & Deadline to Submit for Gallery Display: A list of accepted graphics work will be posted in the entry way of the East Campus Graphics area outside of 1-213 by March 3rd. Since work accepted in the show must be hung in the gallery, you will be asked to prepare each 2D work for a professional showing and resubmit it. Generally graphics work is displayed mounted onto a black presentation board and then plexiglass with plexiglass clips are used. Framing, if prefered, is acceptable as well. The deadline to get your accepted work prepared for hanging in the gallery and dropped off in the Graphics Lab (1-213) is Saturday March 27th.

Exhibition Opening Date: Friday April 16th – The reception is from 6:30 – 9:30pm and the awards ceremony is in the PAC is at 7:30pm.

Exhibition Closing Date: Friday May 21st.

Picking Up Work After Exhibition Ends: Work, once taken down from the show, can be picked up in the Gallery Area in Building 3 or in 1-213 between Monday, May 24th – Friday, May 28th.. Any work that is not picked up by that time may be used to decorate the Graphics Lab walls.

    just curious...i had hoped to enter work from last spring in this year's call for entries that were created after the 2009 call for entries was over. there's no way any 2009 spring work can be entered? only 2009 summer until 2010 spring?

    good questions tanya and akari! tanya: yes you can enter work that has been improved in portfolio review, but keep in mind the max is 2 pieces from each class. akari: yes! definitely submit web/interactive work!! just make sure it is working from a CD. you'll need to burn a separate CD for each piece you submit (this makes sure nothing is overlooked) and attach your entry form to each CD you submit.
