Valencia Graphic's Student is a ONE SHOW COLLEGE COMPETITION finalist!

Eddie Misicka is an international finalist in the One Show College Competition for the work he did while in Mario Saccamango‘s Advanced Graphic Design I course this semester! If you would like to get a closer look at his work, NRDC.org IV bags advertisement and NRDC Magazine ad campaign, they are currently hanging in the Juried Student Exhibition near the PAC in building 3 on East Campus.

One of the most acclaimed advertising student competitions is the annual One Show College Competition, a tradition dating back to 1975. The One Club receives more than 900 entries from around the world in the categories–print, design, TV, innovative marketing and interactive media.

The $3,000, $2,000, and $1,000 prizes are awarded to the Gold, Silver and Bronze Pencil winning teams, respectively. The Pencil winners are awarded at the annual One Show Education Festival awards ceremony and finalists are published in the One Show annual. The finalist works also will be exhibited as part of the One Show Traveling Exhibition in many US and international cities.

Eddie competed against some of the best advertising and design students coming from some of the best schools in the nation such as The Creative Circus, Parsons School of Design, VCU Adcenter, Portfolio Center and Rochester Institute of Technology (among others).

Eddie and Mario Saccamango are hoping to fly to New York for the One Show Education Festival awards ceremony scheduled for May 10th. Wish them luck when you see them and let’s keep our fingers crossed that Eddie wins the coveted Pencil Award or a cash prize!
