Our September meeting will feature Mark Poulalion, Publishing Systems Integrator of Bonnier Corporation. Mark trains editors and designers in publishing workflow systems including InDesign and InCopy. For the past 18 months he has been instrumental in the setup and coordination of the migration of their 50 magazines to iPads. Mark has been in publishing for more then 20 years.

See how the publisher of Popular Science, Transworld Snowboarding, Parenting and 45 other magazines has been producing iPad versions over the past 18 months. With a total of 488,899 downloads since the iPad was first shipped in April 2010.

You will see how they take their print ready InDesign files used in print and prepare for an interactive experience on the iPad using their two preparatory systems: MagPlus and the Bonnier Reader. You will also get insight into some of the obstacles they have had to overcome do to the workflows. Finally, Mark will review some of the alternatives on the market, including Woodwing and the Adobe Digital Solution.
