Get Ready: Flash 9 & Actionscript 3.0

That’s right, though there’s no clear release date yet, we can only speculate that in the coming year or so to hear about another new version of Flash. Over the past few weeks Adobe has announced the public beta release of the Flash 9 player. Flash player 9 will support Adobe’s latest updates to Flash – which from what we know now thus far are Actionscript related. That’s right Actionscript 3.0, which is said to be 10 times faster than Actionscript 2.0. Ultimately this will lead to stronger, more powerful, and efficient web applications.

Author and Flash developer, Colin Moock has offered, “A Survey of the New Landscape” to help give insight to some changes to the Flash Platform and Actionscript 3.0. You can download the beta version of Flash player 9 and get a start experimenting with Actionscript 3.0 now.
