Brian Nutt Winner of AIGA Orlando's SPOT
Each year, the Orlando AIGA sponsors a local event geared towards students and recent graduates. Student attendees can expect a learning rich experience by opting to participate in a portfolio review or just go to be inspired by a guest speaker.
By far, the most enriched attendees are those students who participated in Orlando AIGA’s mentorship program leading up to the SPOT event. Student participants in the mentorship program take on the opportunity to be mentored by local professionals for several months while designing work to be displayed at the SPOT event. This event was given it’s name, SPOT, from the voting process that takes place where attendees are asked to view the culmination of student mentorship efforts and then are asked to vote on the best mentorship work presented by placing their ‘spots’ on the work they feel is deserving of the yearly SPOT scholarship.
This year, the winner of the SPOT scholarship went to Valencia Graphics student, Brian Nutt, for the interactive portfolio and personal identity he created for himself! Brian also had an illustration of Gary, the beloved dog of recent Valencia guest speaker, Aaron Draplin, grace the pages of Mr. Draplin’s website recently.
Next time you get the chance and happen by Brian Nutt working in our East Campus lab in 1-213, be sure to congratulate him!! 🙂
