ATTN: MINIONS

A week into the contest started at Pinup Girls, Killer Robots & Toast and I hope you are all enjoying this time researching, sketching, doodling, dreaming, plotting, planning, making MADNESS & MISCHIEF BOTH. Please do not feel you have to wait until you have something final to show me — hell, I thoroughly encourage you send me process bits. “This is where I’m at, what do you think?”

I do not have a set level of “stuff” I want to see, in terms of numbers. In the immortal words of Alexey Brodovitch, “Astonish me!” (Google him).

The purpose of this project is to help you build a complete branding package. Some options to consider: Main logo, secondary logos, super graphics, patterns, uniforms, stadium designs, bus wraps, merchandise, web site, microsite, banner campaigns, interactive floor games. Look at your favorite sports team and see how they take the essence of their brand — what makes the Chicago Bulls the Chicago Bulls? — and use this line of thought throughout.

Figure out the direction you want them to go, and see how you can push them as FAR AND WIDE as you can. Remember, the theoretical budget for this project is UNLIMITED. You have this opportunity to do WHATEVER COOL STUFF YOU WANT and DO IT. The things you create do not have to be functional, that isn’t the point.

Make it huge.
Make it awesome.
Make it legendary.
Make me, make the creative director you are looking in the eye, say, “Oh snap, that… that is awesome.”
