Job Title: Art Director
Hiring Salary Range: $35,764 – $42,916

Job Summary
The Art Director shares responsibility with the Creative Director for
the effective design and timely production of text-bearing advertising,
collateral and other marketing materials to convey the LYNX image and
message. Reports directly to the Creative Director but must accept
assignments from Manager and Chief Marketing Officer.
DUTIES
- Works independently and with others to develop advertising and marketing concepts.
- Provides artistic and graphic leadership in all media.
- Supervises and directs outside suppliers of designs, photography and illustrations on his/her projects to assure budgets are met and all possible savings are achieved.
- Directs efforts of LYNX consultants on projects as assigned to assure most cost-effective use of their time/resources.
- Conducts research, data compilation and analysis, and applies findings to projects.
- Develops specifications for RFPs to allow the Procurement Department to quickly and accurately bid projects.
- Personally creates mechanical/production art when necessary and cost-effective.
- Independently approves proofs and supervises press runs when necessary.
- Participates in presentations and LYNX marketing activities.
- Maintains reference material on projects.
- Enforces adherence to LYNX design standards at all times.
- Remains abreast of contemporary design and art direction techniques and technology.
- Supervises requisition of graphic production material and supplies.
- Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of office practices, procedures and documentation requirements.
- Excellent knowledge of print production processes and their technical requirements.
- Excellent graphic design skills.
- Excellent graphic software skills with proficiency in InDesign,Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and Mac OS X.
- Ability to work in a multi-project, team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of management, other employees, vendors and the general public.
- Ad agency experience a plus.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff, community leaders, government representatives, customers, coworkers and those doing business with LYNX.
- Ability to translate the vision of an organization to design applications.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle; must possess and maintain a valid Florida Drivers License.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The functions of this position are generally conducted in an office
environment.
Extended periods sitting at a table, desk or workstation with use of a
computer; normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, speaking
and color perception; work involves periodic bending, stooping,
reaching, standing and walking; requires dexterity in operating office
machines and equipment; may be exposed to printing chemicals contained
in graphic supplies.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in art, graphic design or a related field and five
(5) years of experience in graphic design and production. An equivalent
amount of education, training and experience that demonstrates the
knowledge, skills and ability to effectively perform the functions of
this position may be considered.
