Whether you’re new to prepress or a seasoned professional, you’ll want to be at the Winter Park Civic Center on the night of Wednesday, March 24th, when the Adobe InDesign Users Group has two special fast-paced presentations.
PART ONE:
Our evening begins when Omar Cabello, Solutions Manager for Abbott Printing, presents “The Complete Pre-Press Top-Ten Mistakes – Abridged.” Omar brings us up to date with current prepress requirements featuring InDesign and Acrobat workflows.
In a little under 60 short minutes, you’ll receive real-world examples, explanations, definitions and useful demonstrations. Topics include: Bleeds, Creeps, Fonts, Separation Palette – Overprint Preview, Eye Dropper (densitometer), Fonts (OTF, TT, Type1), Rich Black Dies – Setup Separation and Overprint Attributes, Pantone Colors & CMYK Color Bridge Libraries, Ink Manager – Manage Colors, Separation Aliases, Flattener Preview – Identify Transparent Objects, PDFs – PDF Job Options, PDFs – PDF Export Presets (from printer), Page Geometry, and much more.
Understanding prepress is extremely important today for graphic designers. Omar shows us that with today’s technology, prepress departments produce more work in shorter turnaround times with less in-house people and less equipment. For more details about Abbott Printing, check out their website (www.AbbottPrinting.com).
PART TWO:
Following a short break, Douglas Mitchell, Adobe Certified Instructor, presents “How to Create using Adobe PDF Portfolio” and “How to Use Acrobat.com,” Adobe’s free cloud. Step by step, Douglas will create, organize, and archive Acrobat PDF into logical PDF Portfolio presentations which include text, photos, images, links, movies, and audio. Douglas shows us Portfolio is easy, helpful, and intuitive. He uses Portfolio for all his presentations from clients to classroom training handouts with all the files and course books.
