What Makes a Designer?
Whether you re getting ready to embark into a new career, or feeling the shifting sands of mid-career crisis, it’s always good to dive more into why it is we do the crazy design thing we do. Triesta Hall, department chair for Digital Publishing at Full Sail University, unearths the crazy world of design in hopes to entertain, inspire, and inform. The presentation runs from humor (we all need that) to the serious (resources) and ending with a call to action (i.e sustainability). Come and be a part of the fun… and we promise we won’t pass around any kool-aid.
Portfolio Review
A panel of Orlandos top creatives will be available for casual one-on-one portfolio reviews with students and professionals alike. Professionally presented portfolios are required and laptop portfolios are welcome. This review is open to anyone and is a $15 additional fee to the event. Please contactprogramming@orlando.aiga.org by May 7th. All portfolio reviewees must arrive by 5:45pm day of event.

Mentorship Program Exhibit
A special case where being covered in spots looks real good. In the AIGA Mentorship Program, student members and professional members are matched and collaborate over four months to encourage creative and professional growth. This year’s program focused on creating a piece to create awareness about sustainability. SPOT is the culminating event for the program and the resulting work is the spotlight for the evening. The winning work is given a $500 scholarship presented by AIGA Orlando!
