“The Valencia Project: An Intimate Look at Graphic Design”
Martha L. Lent – Illustration Teacher/Curator

Meet the artists Thursday, May 1 from 6 – 9 p.m

This unique exhibition will feature seven, multi-talented graphic design students from Valencia Community College. These students where part of a larger team effort that created two, large scale, graffiti style panels as part of an in class assignment that were exhibited in the First Thursday “Graffiti” Exhibition. Their work is beautifully conceptualized and presented, and the exhibit showcases some of their individual talents and offer an inside view into their creative worlds. The exhibition will include original pieces of art, graphic design posters, packaging design, corporate marketing material, as well as personal photography. The students extend a personal invitation to come and enjoy learning more about their creative processes and their individual passions for art and design.

“Their work is so beautifully conceptualized and beautifully presented, we felt that they deserved a showcase of some of their individual talents which would offer us an inside view into their creative worlds.” -Jamieson Thomas, Orlando Museum of Art Store Buyer and Manager

Many of these diverse and talented students have won numerous awards for their individual student work, as well as a First Place Award for the Graffiti Panels at the Valencia Student Show. The exhibition will include original pieces of art, graphic design, posters, packaging design, corporate marketing material, as well as some personal photography.
