ADDY Awards Gala

This year the ADDY Awards Gala is going to be held at the Destiny Night Club in Downtown Orlando. Due to the new venue, the cost to attend is more affordable for everyone this year ($50 admission versus $70 in the past years). Because the cost is much lower than in the past, students will not be offered discounted tickets this year to attend.

Please keep in mind that you MUST purchase tickets in advance if you want to attend the ADDY Award Gala. There will be no way for you to pay at the door, so if you haven’t purchase your tickets you better do that quickly; you have until Wednesday February 20th to reserve your seats. You can pay online or fax in your payment. Details are on their website: http://www.orlandoaddys.com/event.html

PLEASE NOTE: The only way for you to find out if you have won an ADDY Award is for you to attend this event! It would be a shame if the student who wins Best of Student this year isn’t at the Awards Gala to receive in person his/her award and check, eh? And, gosh, just think about all of those job offers and networking opportunities missed… *sigh*

very interesting, I wish they would have posted that earlier on their web site. When I sent my payment via mail, the student rate was 20.00. Great.

? I am confused...On the web site it says $30 for students. Did they just change that? I really want to go, but $50 is quite high and if I want to take someone that's already $100. But I guess if it includes food it could be ok...

Ok I'm definitely confused now too. I went on OAF's website and it said $49.00. I emailed them twice to find out if they had a student rate because it took awhile to hear back I thought they didn't get my first email. So I received responses back from 2 different people that said it was going to be $49.00. Now there is another website that says $30.00 for the student rate but when you go to purchase the tickets (I did this morning) it shoots you back to OAF's website where it says it is $49.00. So it's anyone's guess at this point.

Just bought my tickets... my husband and I will be there... in "Creative Cocktail Attire". Heh heh heh. I will say though, that earlier I was on the OAF site and it did say that the student tickets were $20.00... now that information is gone.

The more I think about it... the more I am confused about the attire for the show... Should my husband wear a suit? He really doesn't have any "creative" clothing... my best friend says that all of his clothes are the color of mulch.
