Here's who made the 2007 student show

We’d like to officially congratulate those of you whose work has been accepted into the 2007 Annual Juried Student Graphic Art Exhibition. After over two hours of judging by Julio Lima of Say It Loud, 53 pieces were selected out of nearly 150 total print and interactive entries to be on display in this year’s student show. This year’s student show will display 43 print pieces and 10 interactive/web pieces.

ACCEPTED PRINT WORK
The following print work was accepted into the show:

ACCEPTED INTERACTIVE WORK
The following interactive pieces were accepted into the show:

All work may be picked up in 1-215, East Campus, after spring break. Stay tuned for more details on how print work will need to be presented in the show. All print work will need to be mounted for display no later than April 4, 2007.

If your work was accepted it is REQUIRED that you submit a jpg or pdf of any print entries accepted as soon as possible by email to akern@valenciacc.edu so that your work may be featured in the flickr set for this year’s student show and in the presentation during the exhibit opening. You will receive a confirmation email once I receive your work. Obviously, if your work is already in flickr there is no need to send it again. We will photograph all illustration, product, and book designs the week after spring break. Also, Interactive Flash work that has been accepted MUST have a preloader implemented if over 100k. I should not have to track each of you down individually, so please do your best to send me files as soon as possible so that we have adequate time to prepare the presentation and a showcase of your work.

As a reminder, the student show will be held the evening of April 20th at the PAC on East Campus. Be sure that if your name is listed above that you are present – you might just be one to receive one of the 22 awards that will be given out that evening.

I was lucky enough to get to see all the work submitted and am so proud that so many of you took that chance. Don't be too disappointed if your work wasn't selected. It was tough for the judge to narrow it down to less than a 1/3rd of what was entered. The judge, Julio Limo stated more than once how impressed he was at the quality - so much so that he gave a award while judging. So congratulations if your work was selected and if not, remember if you're still around there is always next year so work really hard and try again.

yesss! I am excited, God knows I put a lot of hours into both of those websites. (my family knows too, hahaha) but I am so excited, and I was not even going to submit anything, this was the first time! I hope next year to submit my typography book that I am working on right now, and a couple posters as well. A BIG HUGE THANK YOU to A. Kern for all your support, you're my favorite teacher! :)

Yes, you all have a lot to be proud of. Julio was definitely impressed with the work of our students. Every year we seem to have a new batch of students who are very creative and do some pretty amazing work. Just remember to keep up the great work - as the next batch of students are right around the corner and will be looking for some of the same jobs!
