Six Valencia students awarded Photoshop World Scholarships

We just received word today from NAPP that six of our students were awarded scholarships to attend Photoshop World in Boston next month. Daissy Linares, Stacey Barton, Jonathan Manotti, Nejha Edwards, Ryan Shuhart, and Angela Scarlato have received the scholarship which includes full admission to Photoshop World (valued at $599) and a year NAPP membership (valued at $99). Their membership to NAPP will grant them access to NAPP’s web site filled with tutorials along with a subscription to the popular Photoshop User magazine. The Photoshop World scholarship program was created to give students a chance to learn breakthrough techniques and network with graphics professionals at Photoshop World. I have no doubt that this will be a memorable experience for our students who will likely return filled with photoshop design techniques that will benefit future projects they complete.

We were also informed that I was finalist in the Dean Collins Scholarship for educators. I’m definitely honored to be nominated. Although I wasn’t awarded the scholarship which includes full admission, membership, airfare, and hotel – I was generously offered free admission to Photoshop World and a year NAPP membership. Most of you heard my big news last week, which could possibly prevent me from attending. But who knows, hopefully I will be able to accompany the students to this awesome event. Regardless, I couldn’t be more proud to have our students representing Valencia at this event.

congrats to all who got the scholarship. A couple of us got to go last year and it was great. Take courses that you may find boring... like color theory, using bridge, stuff like that and you will grow you p.s. skills to ridiculous heights. GOOD WORK GUYS

Congrats everybody! I completely forgot about this. I remember sending an email to Amanda but I never got a reply. I was under the assumption, from the original post, that she would send more information about entering or something, or was just sending the email all I had to do to throw my hat into the ring?

Congratulations to all you guys!! I know Boston is far, cold, and pricey to get to.... but Photoshop World made a huge impact on my graphic career and every piece of work I touch! Do whatever it takes to get there!!! And make sure you don't miss 'The Art of the Blend Part I & Part II', it was the most beneficial workshop there was and will push your skills to new levels!! Good luck and have fun!!!

Yes, Photoshop World is definitely going to be a memorable experience for everyone going. I've been once and was amazed by how much I learned. I guarantee everyone will return overloaded with so much new knowledge about Photoshop and more. And as much as I hate the cold – my flight is confirmed – so I'll be sure this baby is infused with lots of Photoshop early on. :) Don't be surprised if we blog some of our visit at Photoshop World...
