Valencia Graphics Students Sweep ADDYs (again)

Out of the total 29 Student ADDYs awarded this year by the Orlando Advertising Federation, 21 went to Valencia students! Congrats to you all!!

Selection of the most creative entry in each category is effected by a scoring process in which a panel of judges evaluates all creative dimensions of every entry. In each category, a GOLD ADDY® is recognition of the highest level of creative excellence and is judged to be superior to all other entries in the competition. Entries that are also considered outstanding and worthy of recognition receive SILVER ADDYs®. The number of awards given in each category is determined by the judges, based on the relative quality of work in that category. Here’s this year’s breakdown of Valencia winners (in order as they appear in the winner’s book):

  3. Jason Ellison (3 Gold ADDYs and 3 Silver ADDYs)
  4. Daissy Linares (Silver ADDY)
  5. Tyson Robertson (Gold ADDY)
  6. Jennifer Johnson (2 Silver ADDYs)
  7. Lisa Harrison (Silver ADDY)
  8. Crystal Aria (Silver ADDY)
  9. Darla Dietz (Silver ADDY)
  10. Kenny Roy (Silver ADDY)
  11. Amanda Bonilla (Silver ADDY)
  12. Garrett Burtoft (Silver ADDY)
  13. Dionne Aiken (Silver ADDY)
  14. Rafael Garcia (Silver ADDY)
  15. Alexis Lassman (Silver ADDY)

Special congratulations go to UCF/Valencia student, Gong Liu, for winning this years Best of Student ADDY and for winning 3 Gold ADDYs for the great work he’s done while at UCF.

STUDENT ADDY WINNERS PLEASE NOTE:
With student ADDYs, the AAF has adopted an amended auto-forwarding process where all Gold winning work will be automatically forwarded to the district and national competition at no cost. Silver winning work may advance to the district or national competition by paying the applicable entry fee (generally $20 per piece). For students wanting to forward their Silver ADDYs onto the district level contact Julie Stine at 407-538-6402 or email Cheryl Powers at cheryl@nimlok-orlando.com immediately to obtain information on how to do so.

    Awesome news. I'll be hunting down all the winners for files that aren't already in flickr. So if you know your ADDY award winning pieces aren't in flickr you might as well send them to me via email at akern [at ] valenciacc.edu. And when you send work on be sure to follow the submission guidelines. I'm sure everyone's excited to see the winner's work!

    Congrats to everyone! I feel so proud to be among so many creative people! Also thanks to all the Valencia instructors. If it weren't for you we wouldn't be gaining all the knowledge necessary to produce winning concepts/projects! Just an fyi in case you didn't see the forwarding form that was given to us with our awards. It states it needs to be faxed back filled out by end of business tomorrow (Feb 26). Good luck to all at the next level!!

    It was really exciting to hear Jason's name so many times, and the crowd clapping for him like that too! I was pretty shocked to win anything. Shoot, if I thought I would have won, I would have entered some more stuff lol. Kristy, what are the winners books? I left a little early, I didn't know there was free stuff to obtain...

    Congratulations to all the winners. Would have loved to be in the crowd cheering everyone on. If you had a silver, I advise it's well worth it to pay the $20 to forward to the regionals. Silvers have turned into golds.

    Hachem and Itchy in the house. woo hoo! I miss you guys! Jennifer, thanks for your heads up that the forwarding information was included with the certificates. I totally didn't pay any attention to it and was just able to sneak in my request in the last few minutes. The story of my life. ;o) Big ups to ALL the winners. I was excited every time I heard VCC called!
