Job opening at Innovative Signs

Innovative Signs, Inc., a local, growing family-owned business, has a full-time job opening for a position in Architectural Sign Design / Graphic Design / Customer Service. This is an office position which involves handling a variety of customer requests regarding our professional plaque and nameplate products.

They are seeking a sharp, detailed, self-motivated individual who truly enjoys interacting with customers by phone. Skills in computer aided design and drafting, math (fractions and decimals), artistic design and layout, sales, general office procedures, and professional telephone etiquette will be used throughout each day.

This position offers a wide variety of duties and experiences, including: Answering incoming calls and e-mail, sending product literature, discussing products with customers, designing sign layouts and quotes (on the Macintosh OS-X operating system, primarily in Adobe Illustrator), corresponding with customers, making follow-up calls, entering orders, ordering products from suppliers, etc.

Requirements

• Design Experience – a work history involving the artistic design and layout of text and graphics on a Windows or Macintosh computer system in Adobe Illustrator or similar object-oriented design applications.
• Business Communication Experience – a work history involving both verbal and written business communication with customers. Almost all customer interaction will be by phone, fax, mail or e-mail.
• Reliable Transportation – to the location described below.
• Applicants may be asked for examples of previous work, and/or to perform multiple design, computer and office exercises as part of the application process.

Hours
Office hours are 9am – 5pm, Monday thru Friday.
Hours for this position will vary between 35 and 40 per week during those hours, depending on the amount of work available. There are periods throughout the year when only part-time hours may be needed, but most periods will require full-time hours.
