ADDY'S deadline: January 12, 2007

Last month we informed you all of the upcoming 2007 ADDY Awards. I just wanted to send out a reminder that you still have until January 12th, 2007 to enter your work into the ADDY’S. All entry requirements are available on OAF’s web site.

Is there going to be a drop box at the school or do we have to go down to Fullsail?

due to the lack of communication and organization that, although was there in the past is non-existent this year for the ADDYs, i recommend everyone drop off their entries at the one official drop-off location - full sail. please make sure you have read and followed the new procedures for submission this year including: 1. registration on-line at http://www.omnicontests.com/addy/omnicontests/logon.cfm?clubid=145 and make payment either on-line or via check/cash at the drop off location (full sail), 2. printed sample UNMOUNTED in a clear plastic envelop (posters should be printed smaller and possibly include a photoshoot of the poster in it's environment to demonstrate actual scale of the finished piece. brochures should be cut and folded to size. 3-D work should be submitted in a box), 3. inside the clear envelop you should also include your confirmation of registration/contact info. along with a CD containing a PDF of a photoshoot/your design how you want it to look like when the entire creative industry see it if/when it is projected onto the winner's screen. if your work is 3-D, you will want to submit a professional high-quality photograph saved as a PDF onto your CD. if it's a brochure or poster, you might want to make sure it's photographed in it's natural environment to demonstrate scale (maybe include a person next to the poster or a hand holding the brochure). 4. don't forget to list your professors or anyone else who provided you with guidance or expertise in the section on the application blank for you to list "advisor". 5. if you didn't make your payment on-line when you registered your entry, make sure you bring cash or a check with you when you drop it off. all ADDY entry info is available at: http://www.orlandoaddys.com/ finally, some financial advice for students: you will only know if you received an ADDY by attending the awards gala at the hard rock live on february 24th. don't wait until then to try to scrape some cash together to be able to attend. it is generally an expensive event (approx. $65, if i'm recalling correctly, that requires you dress formally).

Just an FYI for everyone. I just went over to Fullsail to drop off my entries because that was what the website said, by Friday. I did not realize that the entries are supposed to be dropped off on Friday between 8 am and 6 pm. I am actually going to be out of town from tomorrow morning till Sunday. Thankfully a really nice woman at Full Sail (Nicole Sturtevant) said she will accept entries and deliver them on Friday. She is the Digital Arts Department Coordinator. However she did say the best thing to do was to drop your entries off on Friday to Fullsail, Bldg 2 during the drop off period. I guess the representatives from the Addy's will be there to accept the entries. Good luck everyone! Jennifer

Again, I am so sorry for the miscommunication!!!
