HD Supply seeks graphic design intern
HD Supply, the wholesale distribution division of The Home Depot®, has more than 1000 locations nationwide and employs more than 26,000 associates. Through their portfolio of business platforms, HD Supply provides professional customers with products and services for every phase of building projects from infrastructure to construction to lifetime maintenance and repair and remodel.
They are seeking a college student pursuing a degree in graphic arts with demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office, Macintosh OS X and Windows XP operating systems. The candidate must have a positive attitude, organizational and multi-tasking skills and be able to work 15 hours per week from January 2006-May 2007 on a PC Windows XP operating system.
This is an opportunity to build a portfolio and gain corporate experience in the Marketing and Communications department of a top Fortune company.
Responsibilities include assisting the Marketing & Communications Department with the following:
- Assisting in design development for industrial products in the form of product literature, PowerPoint presentations and templates, corporate communications and internal and external communications.
- Creating page templates and design guides for publications and related material.
- Managing the flow of print material through correction cycles.
- Editing images using Adobe Photoshop.
- Organizing and maintaining project files on media and corporate file servers.
- Preparing print-ready PDF files based on specifications provided by printers.
- Administrative support and services to marketing staff
Requirements
- 15 hours minimum each a week
- Portfolio required
- Strong written/grammatical skills
- Knowledge of 4-color printing process, preflighting files and creating print-ready PDFs is a plus
- Must be able to work on a PC
The internship is currently requires 15 to 18 hours per week and has a $600 bonus at the end of the semester.
