We're offering another section of Layout!
Okay we’ve heard your requests – our current section of layout & design for the upcoming spring semester is full and still in high demand so we’re going to add ANOTHER section so you guys can continue to work towards completing your degree. We owe a big thanks to Dennis Santspree who who has agreed to teach the course. (Thanks Dennis! We can’t say it enough – You’re awesome!) The new section of layout design & copy preparation (gra 1203c) will be held on Thursday evenings from 6-945 at East campus (1-214). This course should be available in atlas for registration by tomorrow.
In case you’re not familiar with the course, it’s a 3 credit hour practical course in planning and visualizing advertising and industrial copy. Students convert rough ideas and designs into comprehensive layouts from which are prepared traditional and computerized camera-ready copy. Experiments are conducted with various media involving design, balance and color psychology. Some of what you should expect to cover in this course are as follows: Graphic Design History, Elements & Principles of Graphic Design, Designing Logotypes, Color in print and web design, Overview of Typography, Brochure Design, Papers & Inks, Copy Preparation, and Proofreading. Please note that prerequisites for this course are Digital, Media & Design (GRA 1142) and Design I (ART 1201C) – you must earn a C or higher in both courses.
So now that registration has begun – do we have any other concerns or requests pertaining to registration? We can’t guarantee that we can meet all requests, but we promise we’re listening!
